Attack of the Saucer Morons is an episode of the television series Invader Zim, produced and aired as episode 5A on April 27, 2001.
Zim, in his Voot cruiser, is about to crash into a police cruiser and swerves away at the last second making the car crash Zim flies away laughing and checks the car off a list when his ship collides with a bee. He crashes, and escapes to retrieve his ship in the morning. However, the ship, along with Zim (who doesn't notice) is discovered by a bearded man who, as we soon see, is obsessed with aliens. Zim comes back in his old man disguise, but is shocked to discover his ship is worshiped by dozens of moronic alien believers. His disguise falls off, and he is paraded as an alien god.
Desperate, Zim contacts Gir, who has been partying, and tells him to rescue him. Gir comes in the form of a government man, who tells the skeptical nutballs that Zim is an 'experimental government aircraft', and camofluages the ship as a piggy. However, Zim and Gir have to make a hasty escape on the piggy, as they are quickly found out. They have the ride of their lives getting away, but the innocent bee comes back, crashing their ship again. This time, they are smack-dab in the middle of a UFO convention.
- Frank Conniff, who plays the man who told of Zim's coming, was a writer and performer for Mystery Science Theater 3000, where alien movies are viewed constantly.
- Another baby resembling Stewie Griffin can be seen.
- The director of the show, Steve Ressel can be seen picking up the Stewie Griffin-like baby before Zim and GIR crash into him.
- Zim's initiation into the alien fanatics' group was originally going to be seen, but was cut out for time.
- The part of the episode where GIR is the "government man" is a spoof on the Men in Black, alleged government agents covering up proof of UFOs.
- When the alien fanatics start walking toward Zim, he shouts, "I'll-I'll lay eggs in your stomach! I mean it!" This may well be a spoof on the Xenomorph's life cycle.
- During this scene, Zim's eyes change to his human contacts.
- Jhonen Vasquez and Steve Ressel make cameo apperences in this episode. Jhonen is one of the Saucer Morons. He can be seen as Gir (in government man disguise) takes Zim out of the tent (although Jhonen is facing away from the screen). Steve can be seen saving a baby from being hit by the pig when Zim flies it into the park.
- Most of Zim's classmates make cameo appearances in this episode. They can be seen in the bus that Zim almost hits and in the park.
