Avalon is a beachside suburb in metropolitan Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Pittwater Local Government Area, and is about 35 km north east of the Sydney central business district. Avalon Beach is generally regarded as an excellent surfing beach. Avalon also has a small nine hole golf course. It has a laid-back village atmosphere, away from the faster pace of the CBD, with cafes, book stores and a cinema. Its postcode is 2107.

Avalon gained notoriety in the late 1990s after an episode of the American television show, Baywatch, was shot at the suburb's eponymously titled beach. Producers of the show, seeking to relocate from their Californian base due to cost constraints, proposed a full relocation to Avalon. However, following complaints from residents (supported by former world surfing champion and local property owner Kelly Slater), the series moved instead to Hawaii.
