BFBS Lisburn

British Forces Broadcasting Service in Northern Ireland is based at Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn. BFBS Northern Ireland is available on 1287 AM in military Base's across the Province & on 100.6 FM in the Lisburn city area.

The station was launched at 10:06am on Monday 8 May 2006 with local school pupil Ceri McNelly being the first voice heard on-air.

BFBS Lisburn broadcasts 24 hours a day. The presenter line-up is:

  • 4-6:30am Early Breakfast show - Paul Wisdom
  • 6:30-10am Breakfast show - Jonny Ferguson
  • 10-1pm Workday - Eddie Castle
  • 1-3pm Heidi Secker
  • 3-5pm Workday afternoon - Chris Pearson
  • 5-7pm Drive show - Rebecca Lewis
  • 7-10pm Evening Show - Jules May-Brown
  • 10-1am The Late Show - Annwen Smith

Saturday

  • 7 - 10am NI Saturday Breakfast with Chris Pearson/Eddie Castle or Rebecca Lewis
  • 10 - 12pm Iain McNelly
  • 12 - 2pm Rachel Cochrane
  • 2 - 6pm The Score with Adam Gilchrist
  • 6 - 7pm NI Live with Bertie Boy Blue (focussing on NI bands)

Sunday

  • 5pm - 7pm Chris Scott
  • 7pm - 9pm: The Weekend Stops Here with George Ellis

  • 1287 kHz (LPAM) Portadown (transmitter shut down June 2006 as base has closed)

FM

100.6 MHz Lisburn. BFBS Northern Ireland also used to transmit on FM to the Crossmaglen base and Forkhill bases in South Armagh before they closed down.
