In February 2006, Bath FM was taken over by The Local Radio Company or TLRC as it is known [2]. The TLRC group owns many stations in the UK including neighboring station Brunel FM. Prior to this take over, Bath FM was an independent local radio station which launched in November 1999 as an alternative to GWR, a rival station serving Bath.
Bath FM's signal is broadcast from a transmitter based at Bathampton Down, next to the University of Bath [3].
