Chili beans

Chili Beans is a term used in many eastern states to refer to chili with beans. Chili beans are not Texas or Cincinnati-style chili but the name most likely originated in areas where they were served alongside these all-meat dishes. Chili bean involves many more ingredients than traditional Chili. The essential ingredients in most recipes are:
- Pinto beans, october beans, kidney beans, great northern beans, or navy beans (white beans are uncommon)
- Ground Beef
- Chili powder or peppers
- Canned tomatoes or Tomato sauce
- Onions

The dish is usually served in a bowl with crackers and is sometimes topped with shredded cheese.
Commercial canned chili generally contains beans but is never referred to as chili beans or even chili with beans. Instead, traditional chili is marketed as "Chili No Beans"
