Big Box Storage

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Big Box Storage, Inc. is a portable storage company that offers residential and commercial customers in select U.S. markets the ability to have a storage container (a “big box”) delivered to their address. Once loaded by the customer, the big box is retrieved by the company and stored indoors at its local facility. At the conclusion of the storage rental period, the big box(es) is then re-delivered to the customer at their then-current address. The service allows the customer to forgo the burden of renting a truck, as well as loading and unloading it. The company also offers customers the ability to ship their rented big boxes over long distances to other select cities within the U.S.

Founded in San Diego, California in 2002, the company has since expanded into other U.S. cities including Portland, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Ventura, CA; and Los Angeles, CA. Further expansion is underway via the company’s franchising efforts, which commenced in 2006.

The company competes with other portable storage companies such as SMARTBOX Portable Self Storage, Portable On Demand Storage, Door to Door Storage, and Mobile Mini.
