Bishop Auckland is a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Since 1935 it has elected Labour MPs.

The constituency is located in the southern part of County Durham in the North East of England. It includes the whole of the Teesdale district and parts of Wear Valley district and Sedgefield borough. The constituency includes Barnard Castle, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Bishop Auckland, Shildon, Spennymoor, Tudhoe and surrounding areas.
Following their review into parliamentary representation in County Durham, the Boundary Commission for England has made very minor alterations to the Bishop Auckland seat.
The electoral wards used in the creation of the modified seat, to be fought at the UK general election in 2009 or 2010, are;
- Byerley, Low Spennymoor and Tudhoe Grange, Middlestone, Spennymoor, Sunnydale, Thickley and Tudhoe from Sedgefield
- The district of Teesdale
- Bishop Auckland Town, Cockton Hill, Coundon, Dene Valley, Escomb, Henknowle, West Auckland, and Woodhouse Close from Wear Valley
