Bishop of Southwark redirects here. This title is also held by the Bishop of Southwark (Roman Catholic).

The Bishop of Southwark oversees the Anglican Diocese of Southwark, which forms part of the Province of Canterbury in England. It was formed on May 1, 1905 from part of the Diocese of Rochester.[1] Consequently, compared with the ancient dioceses, its list of bishops is short:

  1. Edward Stuart Talbot 1905-1911
  2. Hubert Murray Burge 1911-1919
  3. Cyril Forster Garbett 1919-1932
  4. Richard Godfrey Parsons 1932-1942
  5. Bertram Fitzgerald Simpson 1942-1959
  6. Arthur Mervyn Stockwood 1959-1980
  7. Ronald Oliver Bowlby 1980-1991
  8. Robert Kerr Williamson 1991-1998
  9. Thomas Frederick Butler 1998-
