Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

At Zeon’s Granada Lunar Base, an angry Kycilia Zabi scolds her subordinates accusing them of inefficiency. She orders them to send new mobile suits to Char’s Mad Angler squadron. She’s told that the Black Tri-Stars are now en route to Earth to meet with M’Quve and their new Doms.

Back on Earth, White Base is still going under repairs. Amuro meets Matilda and she shows her a shortcut to the bridge. They overhear Kai talking about how he’d like to have Matilda as a girlfriend. Matilda tells him to concentrate on his work. Embarrassed and wishing to make up for his comments, Kai asks her to take a picture with the crew. Matilda agrees and they proceed to take a picture.

Aboard the Big Tray, General Revil tells General Elron that his troops are moving too slowly. A report comes in and Revil is shocked to find out that the Black Tri-Stars have joined M’Quve. This reminds Revil of the time he was captured by the same squadron during the Battle of Loum. This prompts him to make Operation Odessa begin sooner than expected. Elron, who is a Zeon double agent, tells Judock to inform M’Quve of Revil’s decision to start soon.

As Amuro and Matilda enter the ship’s engines for repair, he asks her why she joined the Supply Corps. She says that the supply corps is the only part of the military that creates things instead of destroying them. Amuro attempts to compliment her saying that she’s a strong person, and Matilda says he’s just teasing her.

Not far away, the Black Tri-Stars, consisting of Gaia, Mash, and Ortega, sortie in their Doms and head towards White Base. When they penetrate the defense perimeter, Bright orders Mirai to assume their battle stations. Hayato launches with an upgraded Guntank which can now be piloted alone. He and Kai (with the Guncannon) fire at the Doms but these move very quickly because their feet hover just above the ground.

Sayla tells Mirai that because of her prior experience in piloting the Gundam she’s been ordered to pilot the G-Armor. She goes to the catapult with Amuro and Mirai tells them to launch immediately. The G-Armor launches and Sayla has trouble with the controls. Amuro fires the G-Armor’s cannons at the Doms but misses because of Sayla’s bad piloting.

Matilda’s men are hurriedly repairing White Base’s engines so the ship can take off. The Guntank’s attacks are easily dodged by the Doms. Amuro/Sayla attack Gaia but he too dodges their attacks. Amuro tells Sayla to fly around the mountain so he can separate the Gundam from the G-Armor. She’s not sure to whether she can dock the G-Armor parts but Amuro tells her he trusts her. As they fly behind the mountain, Amuro separates the Gundam.

On the bridge, Mirai is worried and Matilda says that it is her right to be worried. She orders her Medea ship to take off to defend the still-idle White Base. The Black Tri-Stars dodge Amuro’s volleys and proceed to attack using their Jet Stream Attack in which they attack all at once. Amuro barely dodges their attack with almost supernatural reflexes. The try their attack again but this time Amuro uses Gaia as a springboard and rams the Gundam’s beam saber through Mash’s cockpit. At the same time Matilda’s Medea approaches, and Ortega jumps on it and smashes its cockpit. The ship crashes and creates an enormous explosion. An infuriated Amuro then slices Mash’s Dom in half destroying it. Gaia and Ortega retreat, shocked at the Gundam’s ability to dodge their Jet Stream Attack.

Revil is informed of the battle, and orders Elron to begin Operation Odessa immediately. The next morning White Base takes off and Bright orders the crew to gather on deck and give a military funeral to honor Madilda and her soldiers who were killed repairing the ship. Sayla blames herself for not being a good pilot; Matilda’s last words reverberate in Amuro’s mind.
