"Blind" is the first single by American nu-metal band Korn. It appears on their self-titled debut album.
The first version of this song had been recorded on band's demo entitled Neidermeyer's Mind, released in 1993. There is slight difference between these versions, the primal version had a more heavy-metal feeling, and the version that appeared on band's debut LP featured hip-hop stylized bridge. The riff is quite similar to Fear Factory's Scapegoat.
The song was used as the ending theme for the U.S. release of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, and it was also used in the 2000 film Charlie's Angels, directed by McG, who has directed several Korn videos.
It is David Silveria's favorite KoRn song.
The song was used as the opening for all of Korn's shows, up until the release of Issues, where the single "Falling Away from Me" was used to open. However, the song was used for the encore.
The video is similar to one of Korn's other music videos, Shoots and Ladders. Korn is seen performing in front of an energetic crowd in a small stage room. "Korn" can be seen written on the back of the stage. There are also clips of the band seen hanging out.
Music video released on January, 1995
It is one of the songs Jonathan Davis has written with his former band-mate from Sexart, guitarist Ryan Shuck, and the fact that Korn has used this song on his album without crediting him almost led to case in court.
The song is about Jonathan's speed addiction and his failed attempts to quit. Since then, he has become completely sober from both drugs and alcohol.
The song has gained acclaim in press:
