Bob Gunton (born Robert Patrick Gunton, Jr. on November 15, 1945) is an American actor. He is known for his role as Warden Norton in the 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption.
Gunton was born in Santa Monica, California to Rose Marie and Robert Patrick Gunton, Sr. He attended St. Peter’s College and the University of California, and served in the army.[1]
Gunton appeared on Broadway as Juan Peron opposite Patti LuPone in the original cast of Evita and in a revival of Sweeney Todd. He received Tony Award nominations for both. Gunton also portrayed President Nixon in a memorable recreation of the Watergate tapes for Nightline.
