Bobby Deol

Vijay Singh Deol (Hindi:विजय सिंह दियोल, Urdu: وِجے سِںہ دِیول), born 27 January 1967, commonly known as Bobby Deol, is an Indian actor. He was born in India and is of Punjabi origin.

When he was 10 years old he made a very brief appearance as a younger Dharam in the 1977 film Dharam Veer where he played the younger version of his father's character.
He made his debut as a leading man in the 1995 film Barsaat, for which he won a Filmfare Best Debut Award. Although the film flopped[1], Bobby was recognized and won a Filmfare Best Debut Award. In 1997 Bobby Deol starred in his next film with Kajol, titled Gupt which went on to become the fifth highest grossing film of the year. [2]
He continued to star in a few flop movies until 1998 when he had his second hit with Soldier. In 2000 he had two average hit films Badal and Bichhoo. [3]
After a few more box office failures, Ajnabee (2001) and Humraaz (2002), both in the suspense thriller genre did moderately at the box office. [4][5].For Humraaz he was nominated for a Filmfare Best Actor Award. Succeeding films have not done as well.
His movies with elder brother, Sunny Deol, Dillagi (1999) and 23rd March 1931: Shaheed (2002) have not done well at the box office, but have gained the two some critical acclaim for their on-screen chemistry.
His recent release was Shakalaka Boom Boom released on April 6, 2007. He will next star in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom directed by Shaad Ali, under the leading production house Yash Raj Films. The movie will co-star Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta, and will release in 2007.
His other forthcoming release for 2007 is Apne in which he will appear with his father and brother together for the first time.
Bobby Deol is the second son to Dharmendra, a legendary Bollywood actor, and Prakash Kaur. His elder brother Sunny Deol is also a famous actor. Bobby also has two half-sisters born from father's second wife (actress Hema Malini), whose names are Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. His uncles are Gurvinder Deol and his son Sagar Deol. His cousin is actor Abhay Deol. Bobby Deol is married to Tanya Ahuja with whom he has two children. His eldest son's name is Aryaman, born in 2001. His second son was born November 5, 2004 and was named "Dharam" after his grandfather.
