Lyra is the first Pakistani Company to produce Body Armor Products. It was established in 1948 and certified to ISO 9002.

Lyra is vertically integrated with an in-house tannery, which feeds high quality finished leathers to the garment and footwear units. Over the years the product range has increased to include other safety items such as welding gloves, aprons and jackets. Lyra is also producing bulletproof vests and jackets.

Since 1999 Lyra has established the personal protection business (in close co-operation with Dupont USA) and is a major supplier of body armor (Kevlar) & fire-retardant clothing (NOMEX).A range of other products including bomb blankets, letter bomb containment bags, bomb disposal suits (EOD) is also produced.

Lyra is the first domectic company to successfully produce fire retardant flying coveralls as per US Military specification MIL-C-83141A in Pakistan.
