Looks a star in the making after finishing third in the 2005 Crichton Medal. Stanton’s hard midfield running was superb last season and his ability to kick goal makes him a most dangerous proposition for opposition sides. Has filled out during the 2006 pre-season but still looks likely to play a role on the wing – probably opposite Scott Camporeale. At just 19, he is likely to play his 50th senior game this season. Definitely a player Essendon supporters should be excited about.
During the Bombers' horror 2006 season which netted only three wins and a draw, Stanton was one of only three players who played every game that season. The other two are Mark Johnson and Scott Lucas.
