Brian Douglas Shouse (Born September 26, 1968 in Effingham, Illinois is a left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers. He pitches with a sidearm delivery, which he adapted into his pitching windup in 2001, replacing his traditional over the top delivery. Shouse made his Major League debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1993. After playing only 6 games in 1993, Shouse would not pitch another inning in the Major Leagues until he went to the Boston Red Sox in 1998. Yet again, Shouse was released and would not play ball again until 2002 with the Kansas City Royals. Shouse finally got his break with the Texas Rangers, where he played a little more than three seasons. In that time, he was used as an effective reliever, earning 34 holds in 3+ years. As he began his fourth year with the Rangers, Shouse was traded in May to the Brewers for minor league prospect Enrique Cruz.

In 2006, Shouse has proved to be the most consistent arm in the Brewers' bullpen. He recorded two saves and has a team best 2.81 ERA as of July 25. He is usually used by manager Ned Yost to pitch against left-handed batters in relief.

Shouse graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He is currently in the Bradley Braves Hall of Fame after playing baseball there from 1987 to 1990.
