Brightwood, Nova Scotia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coordinates: 44.675167844388° N 63.572095825617° W Brightwood is an unincorporated lower to upper middle income neighborhood in Northern Dartmouth, part of District 9 of the Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia. Brightwood is located between Thistle Street and Woodland Avenve (Nova Scotia Highway 118), and contains the Brightwood Golf Course. The primary streets of the small neighborhood are Victoria Road (Nova Scotia Route 322) and Slayter Street.

Recently, the Brightwood Golf and Country Club voted to move the golf course to Anderson Lake in Burnside in a land swap. This would have meant that the land it currently occupies would be developed. Opposition from residents persaded the city council to turn down the proposal that would have destroyed the largest green space in northern Dartmouth.
