The Brunei cricket team is the cricket team that represents the country of Brunei in international cricket matches. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council in 1992. [1]

Their first appearance in an international tournament came in the 1996 ACC Trophy. They failed to progress beyond the first round, and were not seen in the tournament again until 2006 where once failed to progress beyond the first round, although their final group match saw the remarkable occurrence of their opponents Saudi Arabia scoring 499 runs against them, [2] giving them a somewhat unwanted place in cricket history.

The Brunei Under-19s participated in the ACC U-19 Cup held in Nepal in November 2005. This was their first ever inclusion in an U-19 competition at international level. Brunei failed to progress through to the latter stages of the tournament, having lost to tounament favourites Nepal and Bahrain. Being their first ever experience, exposure to the international stage seemed to have been the basic and main aim of the team as they tumbled to heavy defeats in both matches.

The Brunei under-15 cricket team participated in the ACC Under 15 Challenge Cup 2006 held in December 2006. Brunei failed to progress through the preliminary rounds as they did not abide to the qualification rules and lost every game. But their main aim was to gain experience and enjoy themselves.
