CNBC-e is a hybrid business and financial/entertainment channel operated in Turkey by CNBC Europe and the NTV Group. The channel shares its name with a co-owned magazine about CNBC-e.

Contents

During the day, the channel operates as the Turkish version of the Consumer News and Business Channel, CNBC. The channel broadcasts four main business day shows:

The channel's business day programmes use the same on-air look as CNBC Europe.

The channel also produces a weekly 15-minute programme in English, Business Turkey, which airs at weekends on CNBC Europe and is one of the few CNBC programmes still using the channel's 2000 on-air identity, though only for its opening titles.

The channel is unique in the CNBC family, as it runs popular American drama and comedy programming in prime time. CNBC-e is also noted for heavy scheduling of independent and European movies. All prime time shows (including all television series and movies) are broadcast in their original language with subtitles instead of dubbing. In July and August the channel generally broadcasts repeats from the previous year's programming. It also broadcasts programming from the children's channel Nickelodeon. Shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar:The Last Airbender, The Ren and Stimpy Show, and Rocko's Modern Life are aired both on regular scheduling, and as filler in the late night programming. During the week, the channel airs its series in four preset times, at 7.30 pm, daily-aired series are shown, like Cheers and Married...with Children. At 8.00 pm and 8.30 pm, weekly-aired, two 30 minutes long, shows are aired, examples being According to Jim, King of Queens. At 9.00 pm, weekly-aired, one hour long shows are aired, like The Sopranos and 24. The channel runs a movie of a certain genre chosen for that day, for example while the films that audience has chosen from the website is running at Tuesdays (For example War of the Worlds, American Beauty) at Sundays, two films of a genre is aired (For example two animes, or two Ingmar Bergman films.)
