Cabral Richards,(born, June 19, 1977) colloquially known as Cabbie, is a TV personality featured on one of Canada's major sports news update station, The Score. He primarily deals with sports-related interviews with professional athletes. His shows Cabbie on the Street (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:40pm ET), and the more recently launched Cabbie Unlimited (Sunday 6:30pm ET, Tuesday 6:30pm ET, Friday 7:30pm ET, and Saturday 11:30am ET) have a tendency to delve into current events, quirky questions in sports, as well as mixing in funny previously unseen clips. Cabbie also introduced a brand new show in December 2007, "Cabbie All-Stars", where he interviews A-List professional athletes. The Cabbie on the Street segment is a part of the Score Tonight, a sports highlight show, and is followed by one of the following segments: Plays of the Week, Play of the Night, or the Dirty Dozen. The Score's official website states that Cabbie on the Street is the station's most recognizable feature program.[1]
He also appeared as an interviewer in JZone, a weekly program produced by Rogers SportsNet that documented the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cabbie takes a relaxed approach to interviewing, often poking fun at himself to make the guest open up. He once stated that he frequently touches people during interviews because it is a disarming mechanism. He has interviewed many prestigious athletes, including Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Vernon Wells, Charles Barkley, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Damon Allen, Chris Bosh, Jarome Iginla and Mario Lemieux.
He was also featured in Talib Kweli's 2005 music video for the song "Never Been In Love". Cabbie plays a music producer in the video.
Cabbie also co-hosted NBA XL while working with Rogers Sportsnet. This took place between his year away from the Score when he went to Sportsnet.
