Cambridge Consultants Ltd

Cambridge Consultants Ltd (CCL) was founded in Cambridge, England in the spring of 1960 by Tim Eiloart, who wished to put the brains of Cambridge University at the disposal of British industry.
Cambridge Consultants Ltd had been incorporated by the end of that year.
CCL's first workshop was a disused bakehouse at 69 Histon Road. Sinclair Radionics had developed its Sinclair Micro-amplifier and wanted to contract out the distribution and assembly work; Sinclair's advertisements bearing the Histon Road address first appeared in November 1962.
In 1972 Arthur D. Little, a US-based management consulting firm, bought an 80 per cent share of the company.
Cambridge Consultants was one of the first companies to move onto the new Cambridge Science Park in 1979.
Following a management buy-out in 2002, Cambridge Consultants became part of Altran, the European leader in innovation consulting with group turnover of 1,434 billion Euros, employing over 16,000 staff in 20 countries.
Today, Cambridge Consultants employs 330 staff at its Cambridge headquarters and in Boston USA. The company is a highly successful provider of technology innovation and product design services to worldwide clients in the medical devices, wireless, consumer, industrial and many other sectors.
