Canadian order of precedence
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Canadian order of precedence is a nominal and symbolic hierarchy of important positions within the Government of Canada. It has no legal standing but is used to dictate ceremonial protocol.
- For a list of precedence for medals, honours and postnominal letters, see Canadian order of precedence (Decorations and Medals)
- All units of the Canadian Forces also have an order of precedence which determines seniority; usually of little practical value, it often decides such matters as which unit forms up to the right (senior side) of other units on a ceremonial parade, or the order in which marches or calls are played at a Mess Dinner.
