Cara Renee Gorges (born April 6, 1987) is a beauty queen from Clearwater, Kansas who competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2007.
Gorges won the Miss Kansas USA 2007 title in a state pageant held in Lawrence, Kansas on December 17, 2006. This was her first attempt at the title. Gorges was crowned by outgoing titleholder Ashley Aull of Lansing. Her sister titleholder is Jaymie Stokes, Miss Kansas Teen USA 2007, of Lenexa. The pageant was also a reunion event celebrating the fifteen-year anniversary of the Vanbros organisation and featured many former titleholders from Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska.
Gorges represented Kansas in the Miss USA 2007 pageant which was broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 23, 2007. She placed 2nd runner-up in the nationally televised competition, which was won by Rachel Smith of Tennessee. This was Kansas' first placement since Miss USA 2001, when Lindsay Douglas placed first runner-up.
Gorges is a cross country runner who graduated from Clearwater High School in 2005.[1] She currently attends University of Kansas where she will complete a degree in Mortuary Science in 2007.[2]
