Cariboo Regional District, British Columbia

The Cariboo Regional District spans the towns of Quesnel, Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, and Wells in the central interior of British Columbia. The Cariboo Regional District presently serves an estimated population of almost 70,000. The Canada 2001 Census population was 65,659 persons living on a land area of 80,625.97 km² (31,129.9 sq mi). It covers the area from 70 Mile House to Hixon, just south of Prince George.

Twelve Electoral Area Directors and four Municipal Directors govern the Cariboo Regional District. The Electoral Area Directors are elected by area voters, and Municipal Directors are appointed by their Municipal Council. All directors serve for a three-year term.

The Cariboo Regional District provides region-wide library services, recreational facilities, and local fire protection.
