Carol McGiffin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carol McGiffin (born February 18, 1960, Maidstone, Kent) is an English TV and radio presenter.

She started her broadcasting career in 1988 as co-host of the Chris Evans shows on GLR. McGiffin was Evans's first wife when they married in 1991, but they separated in 1994, and were divorced in 1998.

In 1995 McGiffin was a founding member of the Talk Radio UK team, co-presenting the popular weekday evening show with Moz Dee. She moved to the breakfast slot, which she presented with Paul Ross.[1]

In 1999 she joined London radio station LBC to co-present a weekly show with Nick Abbot with whom she had previously presented on Talk Radio every Saturday afternoon during the summer of 1997. Abbot left the station after six months and McGiffin continued to host the show on her own with producer/sidekicks including Marcus Railton and Jonathan Sanchez.

She has also co-hosted phone-in shows on BBC London Live. In 2002 she presented the late night talk show on Real Radio with Nick Abbot.

Since 2003 she has been a panellist on the ITV1 female-oriented chat and discussion show Loose Women. Between February and July 2006 she was the southern presenter of the Local Radio Company's night-time talk show North South Divided. Mike Elliott was her northern counterpart.

In August 2006 she began a regular Sunday morning show on LBC 97.3.
