Centaurs (Artemis Fowl)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A centaur in the Artemis Fowl book series by Eoin Colfer is a half-man and half-horse creature (with a horse body and chest and head of a man). An example of one is Foaly.
Centaurs are often very intelligent. They tend to be paranoid; Foaly believes that all the human agencies are tracking him though he knows it is beyond humans’ ability. It is mentioned in The Artemis Fowl Files that centaurs are vain, “computer geeks” and kind. According to the book, situations to avoid are when they are sulky, which arises “if you criticize their latest invention, mess with their hard drive or borrow their hoof moisturizer” (quote from The Artemis Fowl Files.)
There are only six speakers of the centaur language alive and their closest relatives, the unicorns, are extinct.
