Centaurus High School (CHS) is a secondary school located in Lafayette, Colorado, and part of the Boulder Valley School District.

Contents

For the school's first 30 years the attendance area for Centaurus High covered Lafayette, Louisville, Superior and parts of Erie. In 1998 Monarch High School was built near the Louisville/Superior border to relieve severe overcrowding at Centaurus, most Louisville and Superior students transferred to the new school leaving Centaurus as one of the three smallest traditional high schools in the district.

Centaurus is one of the most diverse high schools in the Boulder Valley School District with one-third of the students registered as non-caucasian.

To provide a venue for students to play chess, and provide students with an academic, cross-cultural opportunity that supports academic skills.

Organization that offers students a chance to compete in academically orientated speech competitions against other students in Colorado.

The Gay-Straight Alliance is an all inclusive student organization devoted entirely to addressing issues involving sexual orientation and gender identity with a primary goal of education.
