Chaclacayo is located in the 27th km at the Carretera Central, main road starting in Lima urban center all the way up to the East.
Chaclacayo is a city at the valley of the Rimac river that runs from the Peruvian Andes peruanos to the Pacific Ocean.
It is derived from the aymara word that means "At the foot of the carrizo". The "carrizo" is a plant that grows at the Rimac's riverside.
Places to visit in Chaclacayo are without doubt the Parque Central, the central park of the district. Around the park there are a few landmarks: a well-known bakery, an evangelical church and a bazaar.
