Charles Tilly

Charles Tilly (born May 20, 1929) is a well known American sociologist who has written a large number of books on the relationship between politics, economics and society. Tilly attended school at Harvard and Oxford before teaching at University of Delaware, Harvard University, the University of Toronto, University of Michigan, the New School, and Columbia University, where he now is the Joseph L. Buttenwieser Professor of Social Science.
