Charles Winters (born January 26, 1977) is the Editor-in-Chief at GaySocialites, journalist, blogger and radio personality. He lives in New York City but hails from East Tennessee.
Charles Winters was born into an influential southern family, and has been reporting and writing since as long as he could speak and write. After losing his mother at the age of 5 years old, Charles set his sites on the Big Apple without ever forgetting his hometown roots.
While studying broadcast journalism at the University of Tennessee, Charles founded the school's first student-run television station called the Volunteer Channel or V-TV. Before even earning his degree, Winters landed a job freelancing with a Fox News affiliate producing stories that were run world-wide on Fox newsfeed. His work with the Fox News landed him a job hosting a weekend news magazine show called Insights airing on the local NBC affiliate.
Before moving to New York City in 2001, Winters worked as the morning host of Good Morning East Tennessee produced by BBB Communications and went to report for the local CBS affiliate.
Since moving to New York, Charles has founded GaySocialites,, hosted The Call with Charles Winters and produced news and entertainment cut-ins syndicated world-wide. He also provided syndicated live reports from ground zero as the tragedy of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.
Winters sprung to blogger fame as his site was recognized for his coverage of the Anna Nicole Smith death and court battles that followed her passing.
He is also known for his tag-line, 'the World's First Gay Socialite'.
