Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Halliwells battle the Demon of Illusion who has the power to unleash celluloid villains on society and brings to life Phoebe's favorite film character, Billy, who remains in black and white while everything around him is in color. Using his newly discovered ability to bring psycho characters out of horror movies, the demon sends an axe murderer and a knife-wielding corpse to kill Phoebe, Prue and Piper, but they force him back into the movie and join him in an on-screen battle of good vs. evil.

  • Demon of Illusion: A demon who has the ability to animate inanimate objects, such as movie characters. He can walk between the real world and false ones and has immunity to common witch powers. His goal is to create violence in society. The Charmed Ones vanquished the Demon of Illusion by burning the film of the movie he was in, but it is not clear if there is a spell or a potion that would vanquish the demon magically.
  • Bunyip: This ugly creature has Aboriginal blood. The Bunyip lives in Africa, Asia, and parts of the Australian Outback. It is known to bring disease and is roughly the size of an ape. Usually the Bunyip will attack alone, but when their young brood is disturbed, they kill humans found within a mile by eating them.

  • To Vanquish The Demon of Illusion (Didn't work): Evil that has travelled near, I call on you to disappear. Elementals heed my call. Remove this creature from these walls

  • Phoebe's favorite movie that Billy is in is the fictional Kill It Before It Dies. Phoebe later watches the movie again in the episodes Bride and Gloom and Sense and Sense Ability.
  • This is a fan favorite episode.
  • Piper says 'I'm being stalked by psycho killers and I hide in the shower'. This is a reference to Psycho (1960), a horror movie in which one of the main characters is killed in the shower.
  • Piper and Phoebe get stuck inside the movie in this episode. Something similar happens in the season six episode "Forget Me...Not" when Wyatt conjures a dragon out of the TV.

  • French: C'est pas du cinéma ! (That's not cinema)
  • German: Der reinste Horror (The pure horror)
  • Spanish: Pelicula en blanco y negro
