Chris Lowell

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christopher 'Chris' Lowell was born on October 17, 1984 in Atlanta, Georgia[1]. He attended the prestigious Atlanta International School, where he became interested in theatre and filmmaking[1]. He currently attends University of Southern California, where he was discovered in his first year while playing beach volleyball[1]. In his spare time, he enjoys amateur filmmaking, theatre, and traveling.[1]

After being discovered and going through his first major audition, he landed a role on the ABC drama Life As We Know It[1], his most notable role to date. Of the show's trio of male characters, Lowell portrayed Jonathan Fields, the "least confident but most creative and grounded of the three"[2]. However, the series was cancelled after only 13 episodes [3]. Besides a role in a small film entitled You Are Here in early 2006, Lowell did not have any major roles between when Life As We Know It ended in early 2005 and summer 2006, when he was cast as Stosh "Piz" Piznarski in the third season of Veronica Mars. In the series, Lowell plays a student at Hearst College, and the roommate of Veronica's friend Wallace, thus becoming friends with Veronica herself. Piz is a perceived threat to the relationship of Veronica and Logan, though Kristen Bell has said that, offscreen, the actor who portrays Logan, Jason Dohring, and Chris Lowell are very good friends.[4] Lowell will also appear in the upcoming film Graduation.[5]

Chris is also the vocalist and harmonicist for the indie acoustic band Two Shots for Poe[6]. In the summer of 2006, the band ventured on an impromptu tour from Atlanta to Montreal and back with only $200 and a full tank of gas. The tour was filmed and is soon to be released as a documentary miniseries via internet webisodes.
