Christian Vanneque

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christian Vanneque was head sommelier of La Tour d'Argent, a famous three star restaurant in Paris. The royalty of nations, stars of Hollywood and political leaders have all dined at La Tour d'Argent, which is probably the most famous restaurant in Paris.

He served as an expert wine taster at the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976.

He also participated in the The Wine Rematch of the Century on the 30th anniversary of the Paris event. He said he was "very impressed" with the results, which were a "wonderfully sustained victory" for California wines. "I don't know if I will be able to go back to France." He explained that "After a second time (that California wines win), they will kill me."
