A Christian girl group, as the name implies, is a musical group featuring a group consisting usually of young female singers, singing mostly Christian pop and R&B songs. It is essentially the female equivalent of a Christian boy band. They are distinct from girl bands and All-women bands, where the women sing and play instruments.
Unlike Christian boy bands, Christian girl groups are more common and popular. Critics have speculated it could be because of the lack of feminism and dissimilar popularity of metrosexuality in the Christian entertainment industry and Christian pop culture in general.
