She married Royal Thai Air Force Flight Lieutenant Virayudh Didyasarin (Air Vice Marshal now), a commoner, in 1982. From this marriage, which eventually ended in divorce, she has two daughters:

Currently, she has been in a relationship with Chaichon Locharernkul, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. Chaichon has specialization in Epileptology. They often appear together in public places both in Thailand and abroad, but the formal marriage between the two has not been made public. He has always accompanied her, as Chulabhorn continues to be involved in many areas and travels extensively abroad as well, mostly in Asia and the Pacific region.
