CIBA Vision

CIBA Vision, a Novartis company is a contact lens provider and is the eye-care unit of Novartis AG. It is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) in the Johns Creek Technology Park. The company is ranked No. 4 in the world in terms of market share and supplies contact lenses in the areas of myopia correction, astigmatism, progressives, cosmetics and custom wear speciality lenses.
CIBA Vision has manufacturing sites located in Atlanta, Batam (Indonesia), Grosswallstadt (Germany), Singapore, Des Plaines (Chicago) and Puerto Rico. A new manufacturing site at Port of Tanjung Pelepas in the state of Johor (Malaysia) is also being constructed and due for completion by April 2007.
Some of the latest CIBA Vision contact lenses are the Silicone Hydrogel lenses (Lotrafilcon-B) O2 Optix and Night and Day (Lotrafilcon-A). Others include Focus Weekly, Focus Weekly Softcolors Focus Monthly, PUV, Choice AB and Focus Dailies. CIBA Vision lens care products and solutions include AOSEPT, Clear Care, Solo Plus and Solo Care.
Night and Day contact lens hold a high oxygen permeability rate and are approved for extended continuous wear of up to thirty days, but this modality is not indicated for everyone.
