The City of Wodonga is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia, located in the north-eastern part of the state. It has an area of 432 square kilometres and in 2001 it had a population of 33,000. Its floral and fauna emblems are Pink heath and the Leadbeater's Possum respectively.

Wodonga was first surveyed in 1852 and proclaimed the town of Belvoir in the same year. In 1876 the government of the colony of Port Philip granted a request from the people of the area for their district to be separated from the Yackandandah Shire. Nearly one hundred years later in 1973 Wodonga was proclaimed a city by the Governor of Victoria Sir Rohan Delacombe and the Shire of Wodonga was renamed the Rural City of Wodonga. The municipality survived widespread local government amalgamations in 1994, but one year later the local council stopped using the word “Rural” in its title except when legally required. In 2004 the name was officially changed to the City of Wodonga.

There have been several moves to merge the local government areas of Albury and Wodonga. For further details see Albury-Wodonga
