Clinton Township is one of the seventeen civil townships located in Franklin County, Ohio, U.S.A. Its population in 2000 was 4,294, according to the United States Census Bureau.

Clinton Township was settled in 1800 as a rural community. The young township's west side was home to a circus, the Sell's Brother's Circus; this area is known today as University View. Cleveland Avenue on the township's east side was known at the time as Harbor Street. Townships including Clinton were downsized from the 1950's through the early 1970's via annexation.
