Named after a 17th century story entitled "The Marriage of Cock Robin and Jenny Wren", the band performed in California before it signed to CBS Records Inc. Cock Robin's first album was produced by Steve Hillage and quickly gained a lot of attention in Europe, especially in France, Germany, Italy and in the Netherlands, where the two first singles "When Your Heart Is Weak" and "The Promise You Made" became big hits, and the album itself a chart-topper.
In 1987, the band released their second album, produced by Don Gehman. Again Cock Robin attracted much attention in continental Europe where the LP entered the Top 5; with another Top 20 hit, "Just Around The Corner".
Two years later, the band released their third album, this time produced by Roxy Music veteran Rhett Davies. Soon after, the band split up.
During all these years, the band did a few tours in Europe, always attracting enthusiastic fans.
In 2006, Cock Robin reformed, releasing their fourth album and did a few shows in the U.S. and in France.
