Collarenebri, New South Wales

Collarenebri is a town of approximately 800 persons in north central New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in Walgett Shire, on the Barwon River approximately 75 km northeast of Walgett on the Gwydir Highway.

The name Collarenebri comes from Gamilaraay galariinbaraay, literally "having acacia blossoms".

Industries in the area include cotton, wheat and cattle farming. Other activities include fossicking for gemstones such as topaz, agate and petrified wood.

Some fishing is also done on the Barwon River.

Collarenebri was among the last places in Australia to be converted from a manual switchboard to an automatic telephone exchange.
