The New York Comic Con is a convention held annually in New York City. 2006 saw the first event, held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Organizers stated the attendance was far more than anticipated (with the convention floor even being shut down and exhibitor's and convention goers locked out at one point) and that they were arranging to have sufficient space for the 2007 show.[1]

The second annual show was held February 23-25, 2007. While lines were long, the show did not suffer the same problems of the previous year's outing, as the convention organizer was noticeably better prepared and had more than double the space available. [2]

Noted columnist Rich Johnston favorably compared the convention to San Diego Comic-Con.[3] The 2008 show will take place in April, to allow for even more space. [4]
