Cook Shire Council is a Local Government Area in Far North Queensland, Australia. The shire covers the majority of Cape York Peninsula, the most northerly land form on the Australian mainland.

Towns in the shire include Marton, Laura, Lakeland, Coen, Ayton, Rossville and Portland Roads as well as the administrative centre, Cooktown. There are also some inhabited islands in the shire such as Lizard Island.

The shire contains a number of Aboriginal Council areas, such as Hope Vale, Lockhart River, Napranum and Mapoon.

The shire is home to two World Heritage Sites, the Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef.
