Cricketer

Cricketer is a term used to refer to a person who plays cricket. While it is correct to refer to any player of the game as a "cricketer", in practice, "cricketer" is more likely to refer to a cricket professional than an amateur player.
In the more general sense, the specification of the participants in a game of cricket is in Law 1 of the Laws of cricket. This law requires each team to be named prior to the toss of a coin to decide which team bats and which team bowls first. They may not be changed thereafter (but see Substitute).
