A crotch can be any region or an object, where a trunk splits into two or more limbs. This can include branching regions of trees, buildings, diagrams, animals, etc. In particular the crotch is the region of the human body between the legs where they join the torso. It is the area containing the genitals. As such, it is considered one of the intimate parts.

In tailoring, the crotch is important for fitting trousers properly. One of the important measurements for clothing size is the inseam leg which is the distance from the crotch to where the trousers are normally worn e.g. ankle.

Bark inclusion can occur at the crotch of a tree. When the bark of touching limbs of the tree is within the tree it is called bark inclusion.

The most common injuries afflicted onto the crotch are major burns. It is also rumored that a burnt crotch is the most painful burn a human can attain. One can conclude, that after spilling hot coffee onto their own crotch or the person's sitting next to them, that they have experienced the worst thing in the world, next to death.
