Cuthbert of Canterbury

Cuthbert of Canterbury is first recorded as the abbot of Lyminge, from where he was elevated to be the Bishop of Hereford in 736. He served in that capacity for four years before his elevation to the Archbishopric of Canterbury in 741. He died in 758 and was later canonized.
