Dakota Wesleyan University

Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU)is a four-year university located in Mitchell, South Dakota, and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The student body averages around 700 students. It was founded in 1885.
- Dr. George Stanley McGovern (born July 19, 1922 in Avon, South Dakota) was a United States Congressman, Senator, and Democratic presidential candidate, losing the United States presidential election, 1972 to incumbent Richard Nixon.
