Daniel "Dan" Sullivan was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap Opera EastEnders. He was played by Craig Fairbrass.
He arrived in Albert Square as Carol Jackson's latest boyfriend in 1999 and was planning to marry her after she fell pregnant with his child. Carol's daughter Bianca was horrified to see him, as she had had a fling with him when she was just 16 many years before while she was on holiday. Dan and Bianca started an affair, which was soon discovered and Carol subsequently aborted her and Dan's child and left Walford as did Bianca.
Dan remained in the Square and was sold Grant Mitchell's share in The Queen Vic for only £5 by Phil Mitchell. Dan then discovered Phil, Roy Evans and Frank Butcher were involved in a dodgy scam involving the car lot so he informed the police. He later told Mel he had told the police and she let slip to Lisa and eventually Phil also found out. Then Phil plotted to win back his share of the Vic and arranged a card game. When Phil won the share back, Dan vowed revenge. He started threatening Melanie Owen with phone calls and stalking her because she had told Phil about him informing the police and she was in on Phil's plan to throw him out of the Vic. But Mel was saved when Steve Owen came to her rescue and threatened to kill him unless he left the Square and Dan left Walford in July 2000.
After six months since he was last seen, he returned in February 2001 and wanted revenge against Phil. After Phil was shot on Steve and Melanie's wedding day, Dan was one of the suspects, but it turned out Phil's girlfriend Lisa Shaw was the shooter. Phil forgave Lisa and decided to frame Dan instead. Dan was arrested, and in court the jury rightly found him not guilty, and he took his revenge by kidnapping Melanie (thinking that Steve had shot Phil). Dan managed to get £200,000 ransom, and left Walford in August 2001 a considerably richer man than when he first arrived and has not been seen since, although seven months later he sent a bunch of flowers on Steve Owen's grave bearing the written message "Gotcha!"
