Daniel Krige (born July 16, 1970) is a writer, director and actor. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, he grew up in Australia. Krige began working as a writer at the age of sixteen for Grundy Television and has since established himself as one of Australia's most prolific.

Krige began to direct and act at the age of 21, having international success with the award-winning short films, Our Feral Friends (1994), Fuckwit (1994), and Happily Ever After (1996). Krige recently directed his debut feature film entitled West (2007 film).

Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde fame is the main vocalist on the score to West (2007 film). She also sings the title song, "Falling in Love".

His film Happily Ever After (1996) came second at Australia's prestigious Tropfest Film Festival.

John Polson, director of the Tropfest Film Festival, was 3rd AD on Krige's short film Fuckwit.

Wrote the first draft of his debut feature West (2007 film) when he was just sixteen years old.

He attended the Australian Film Television and Radio School with Dion Beebe, Rowan Woods, Samantha Lang, Peter Duncan and Robert Connolly.

He was the first choice to write the screenplay for The Boys (1998), but when scheduling conflicts prevented him from taking the job it went to Stephen Sewell.

His film, The Door (1991), took out the Golden Hugo for Best Short Film at the Chicago International Film Festival.

When Our Feral Friends (1994) was submitted to the Australian Film Commission for completion funds, they mistook the mockumentary for the real thing, and commended Krige on his bravery for undertaking such a project.
