Dark Justice was an American television series which ran for 65 episodes from 1991 to 1993.

The plot of the series revolved around Judge Nicholas Marshall, who loses his faith in the judicial system after his wife and daughter die in a car bombing in which he was supposed to die. His goal is to bring to justice the high-level offenders who use legal technicalities to beat the system. From the bench, his final words to those he knows to be guilty are: "Justice may be blind. But it can see in the dark." That evening, he removes his glasses, lets down his hair, and trades his robe and suit for black leather.

The "Night Watchmen" are members of his vigilante motorcycle force, consisting of those he prosecuted for lower-level offenses. In other words, this force is a way to perform community service.

The part of Judge Marshall was played by two different actors during the course of the series.

  • Ramy Zada - Judge Nicholas Marshall #1 (1991)
  • Bruce Abbott - Judge Nicholas Marshall #2 (1992-1993)
  • Janet Gunn - Kelly Cochrane (1992-93)
  • Dick O'Neill - Arnold "Moon" Willis (1991-1993)
  • Clayton Prince - Jericho "Gibs" Gibson (1991-1993)
  • Begoña Plaza - Catalana "Cat" Duran (1991) (as Begonia Plaza)
  • Viviane Vives - Maria Marti (1991)
  • Kit Kincannon - District Attorney Ken Horton (1991-93)
  • Carrie-Anne Moss - Tara McDonald (1991-1993)
  • Elisa Heinsohn - Samantha "Sam" Collins (1993)

Judge Marshall was first played by Ramy Zada, then by Bruce Abbott. This was because, after Season 1, the series which had been shot on location in Barcelona, Spain had to switch locations due to the budget and location constraints of the Summer Olympics in Barcelona. By the time the series was preparing to film Season 2, actor Ramy Zada was said to be unavailable for the series. Bruce Abott was chosen as his replacement. It was also because filming in Spain required the hiring of Spanish actors [i.e. Begoña Plaza as "Cat"]. Shooting in L.A. provided producers with more choices and variety in casting.

Although Cat, Maria, and Kelly, Judge Marshall's female members of the night watchmen, were all very popular, many felt that Bruce Abott as marshall, and Janet Gunn as Kelly, had the best chemistry.
