David Craig, Baron Craig of Radley

Marshal of the Royal Air Force David Craig, Baron Craig of Radley, GCB, OBE (born 17 September 1929) is a retired Royal Air Force officer and member of the House of Lords.
Craig was educated at Radley College and Lincoln College, Oxford from where he graduated with a BA in Pure Mathematics.
After receiving his commission in 1951, the Lord Craig went on to fly Meteors and Hunters. Notably, he has commanded No. 35 Squadron, been Station Commander at RAF Cranwell and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Strike Command.
Lord Craig was Chief of the Air Staff, and subsequently Chief of Defence Staff from December 9, 1988 to April 1, 1991.
He was made a life peer as Baron Craig of Radley, of Hellhoughton in the County of Norfolk 30 July 1991 and was the Convenor of the Crossbench Peers in the House of Lords from December 1999 until July 2004.
