David Dhawan

David Dhawan is an Indian film director. His real name is Rajinder Dhawan. He was most active during the 1990's, specializing in comedies (notably featuring Govinda, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan). He is a Hindu and Punjabi, and is sometimes called Raju Dhawan. He is one among only a few directors who are specialised in directing comedy films. Govinda has acted in the most number of films directed by him. The frequent actresses in his films are Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal appear in nearly of his films in comic supporting roles.

His most notable films include Raja Babu (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1997), Hero No.1 (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997), Biwi No.1 (1999) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004).
